Dr. KyuJin Shim (PhD, Syracuse University) is an Assistant Professor of Media & Communications, School of Buinses at IE University in Madrid and Segovia.
Her research interests are ethical consumerism and political consumerism in the context of corporate ethics and social responsibility and social media, crisis management and international PR with regard to globalization and digitization in communication. She pursues a new direction in close relation to intercultural marketing communication such as social campaign, brand activism and consumer ethics etc. Also, whilst her previous research methods have been majorly quantitative her ongoing research endeavors are expanding into a mixed approach incorporating qualitative and ethnographical methodology using focus group and interviews as well as big data collection and analysis.
As an award-winning researcher, she published more than a dozen research papers in prestigious journals such as Communication Research, Computers in Human Behavior, Public Relations Review, American Behavioral Scientist. Prior to joining IE University, she taught in the University of Melbourne (2018-2021) and the Singapore Management University (2014-2018) as an Assistant Professor of Corporate Communication.
